Real Madrid suffers second straight loss in the EuroLeague

Real Madrid lost to Khimki on the road on Thursday night (102-94) and suffered its second straight loss in the EuroLeague.

Two days after being defeated by CSKA Moscow (60-55), the “Whites” lost for a second consecutive time.

Real Madrid saw Khimki take control after the first quarter and never look back.

The Russians led by as many as 24 points (93-69) and cruised to an easy victory.

Khimki put an end to their four-game losing streak and now are at 9-11. On the other hand, Real Madrid has lost two in a row and dropped to 15-5.

In Istanbul, Fenerbahce came back from an 18-point deficit early in the game (12-30), but Barcelona stood tall eventually (74-80).

The Turks took the lead (62-61), but the Catalans went on a 4-15 run (66-76) and sealed the deal.

Fenerbahce lost for the first time after three straight victories; they now have an 8-12 record.

The “Blaugrana”, on the other hand, improved to 14-6 and remained close to the top.

After the game, Fenerbahce head coach Zeljko Obradovic complained about the referees’ decisions.

“We will create a video and then discuss it with the EuroLeague. This is the only way. We respect the competition, but they should respect us, too.

We believe this is the only way,” the legendary head coach told reporters in the post-game press conference.

Scottie Wilbekin made another excellent offensive performance and helped Maccabi Tel-Aviv edge Armani Milano (69-63).

Wilbekin posted a game-high 22 points (8/14 shooting), four rebounds and four assists, as the Israelis claimed their third straight win.

“It was a little bit weird in the first half and our team overall was a little lethargic.

But we did a great job, the fans gave us energy and we found ourselves in the second half,” Wilbekin said afterwards.

Maccabi improved to 14-6, whereas the Italians dropped to 10-10, losing their second game in a row.
