CSKA Moscow ends Real Madrid 13-game undefeated streak in the EuroLeague

CSKA Moscow edged Real Madrid on Tuesday night and put an end to the “Whites” 13-game undefeated streak in the EuroLeague.

It was another EuroLeague classic at the Megasport Arena in Moscow, which was decided in the final seconds.

The Muscovites played excellent defensively and came back from a double-digit deficit in the first half (16-26).

Outscoring the Spaniards 34-22 in the second half, they sealed the deal and climbed higher in the EuroLeague standings.

CSKA is at 13-6, whereas Real Madrid has a 15-4 record.

At the Sinan Erdem Dome, Anadolu Efes earned an easy victory and remained on top of the EuroLeague standings.

The Turks never trailed in the game and dominated Armani Milano (88-68), improving their record to 16-3.

On the other hand, the Italians dropped to 10-9.

Despite playing without its star, Bojan Dubljevic, Valencia claimed a big road win over Khimki (75-84).

The Spaniards took over in the second half and outscored the Russians 28-40 to seal the deal.

Moreover, Valencia returned to the winning track in the EuroLeague (9-10), after last week’s loss to Olympiacos.

Concurrently, the downfall of Khimki continues (8-11), with the Russians losing their fourth straight.

ALBA Berlin emerged victorious from Greece for a second time this season, after beating Olympiacos (86-93).

In the debut of Giorgos Bartzokas on the team’s bench, the “Reds” suffered another home defeat and dropped to 7-12.

In addition, it is clear that the Greek coach, who returned to the club after six years (2014), has to make many changes to turn things around.

For their part, the Germans snapped a two-game losing streak and now are at 6-13.

Fenerbahce maintained its playoff push in the EuroLeague, after claiming its third consecutive victory.

The Turks rallied past ASVEL Villeurbanne at home (86-64) and now are one step away from the eighth place (8-11).

The French, on the contrary, lost their third in a row and dropped to 8-11.

Last but not least, Maccabi Tel-Aviv survived Barcelona (92-85) in a great derby between two EuroLeague powerhouses.

Maccabi remained undefeated at home in the EuroLeague; both teams now have identical records (13-6).
