Lakeland Magic wins NBA G League Championship

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, defeated the Delaware Blue Coats, 97-78, in the NBA G League Finals presented by YouTube TV. It’s the first championship in franchise history.

Throughout the season, the Lakeland Magic performed like one of the best teams in the NBA G League, and now, the group can call themselves champions.

Devin Cannady produced 22 points and six rebounds, Jon Teske had 12 points and three assists, and Tahjere McCall scored 11 points to lead the Magic to a 97-78 win over the Delaware Blue Coats in the 2021 NBA G League Finals.

Cannady was named the 2021 NBA G League Finals MVP.

The NBA G League tipped off on the 10th of February. Eighteen teams each played 15 games from Feb. 10 – March 6 at Disney. The top eight teams from the 135-game schedule advance to a single-elimination playoff, which began on March 8 and concluded with the NBA G Final yesterday (March 11).
