Dallas Mavericks vs. Philadelphia 76ers Odds – Regular Season Stats & Betting Trends
Can The Mavericks Get Back On Track Against The Short-Handed Sixers?
Dallas Mavericks Season Stats:
- Scoring Offense: 118.2 PPG – 10TH
- Offensive Efficiency: 117.9 points per 100 possessions – 4TH
- Scoring Defense: 118.8 PPG – 21ST
- Defensive Efficiency: 118.6 points per 100 possessions – 24TH
The Dallas Mavericks were once 23-16 and among the top teams in the Western Conference. But since then, they have produced only three wins in their last 10 games, and they now find themselves in the No. 8 spot.
In their last outing, the Mavericks fell to the Milwaukee Bucks 129-117. Luka Doncic scored a team-high 40 points along with 11 assists and nine rebounds.
Maxi Kleber added 21 points on 8-for-11 shooting from the floor and 4-for-7 from beyond the arc. He also had three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Josh Green contributed 20 points and nine rebounds, while Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 18 points off the bench.
It appeared that Dallas was on its way to an easy victory, jumping out to a 44-20 lead after the first quarter. Unfortunately, the Mavericks were outscored 109-73 the rest of the way, marking the team’s biggest blown lead in a loss this season.
“Looking at what Milwaukee did, they just kept playing and took our best shot there in the first half and then ended the half on a positive with Dame making that 3 at the buzzer,” Dallas coach Jason Kidd said. “We didn’t take care of the ball.”
Although the Sixers will be without their All-Star center for the foreseeable future, the Mavericks will need to play at a high level from start to finish if they want to snap their two-game skid.
Can The Sixers Stay Afloat Without Joel Embiid?
Philadelphia 76ers Season Stats:
- Scoring Offense: 119.1 PPG – 6TH
- Offensive Efficiency: 120.1 points per 100 possessions – 6TH
- Scoring Defense: 113.3 PPG – 14TH
- Defensive Efficiency: 114.2 points per 100 possessions – 10TH
On the other side of this matchup are the Philadelphia 76ers who have hit a rough patch as of late. It was not that long ago when they had the third-best record in the Eastern Conference.
They are 5-5 in their last 10 outings, with those losses taking place in their last six contests. This includes a 136-121 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday night.
Tyrese Maxey paced the Sixers with 23 points, five assists, and three rebounds. Terquavion Smith added 17 points off the bench on 6-for-7 shooting from the field. Kelly Oubre Jr. contributed 16 points but shot just 3-for-14 from the floor while going 0-for-5 from beyond the arc.
In addition to Embiid being out of the rotation indefinitely, Tobias Harris sat out this contest due to an illness and injuries sidelined De’Anthony Melton, Nicolas Batum, and Robert Covington as well. However, head coach Nick Nurse refused to use this as an excuse for this team’s performance.
“It was a tough one tonight with the manpower, but I don’t like to use any excuses,” 76ers coach Nick Nurse said, via ESPN. “We still should have tried to play a little better — especially at the defensive end and guard the three-point line. Obviously, we gave up way too many and way too many open ones.”
Fortunately for the Sixers, Dallas is not one of the best defensive teams in the league (ranked 21st in scoring defense and 24th in efficiency). But without their MVP center in the lineup, points will be hard to come by in this contest and moving forward as well.
Now that we have set the table for this matchup, let us look at the betting trends for both sides.
The Picks
The Spread
The Mavericks opened as a one-point underdog. However, the road team is now a one-point favorite (per pre-game.com). Here is a look at how both teams have fared against the spread this season.
- The Mavericks are 1-7 ATS in their last eight games.
- Dallas is 2-4 ATS in their last six matchups against the Sixers.
- In their last seven outings against Eastern Conference opponents, the Mavericks are 2-5 against the spread.
- Dallas is just 1-4 ATS in its last five games against teams in the Atlantic Division.
- The Sixers are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall.
- Philadelphia is 13-6 ATS in their last 19 matchups against Western Conference opponents.
- In their last 16 February contests, the Sixers are 11-5 against the spread.
Considering the Sixers have an injury-depleted roster, going with the road team to cover the small spread is the better option here.
Prediction: Dallas Mavericks (-1)
Over/Under
The projected over/under total for this matchup opened at 242.5 points. The line has recently moved to 243. Here is why going with the “under” is the smart choice.

- The UNDER total has prevailed six times in Dallas’s last nine road contests.
- In the Mavericks’ last eight road matchups against Philadelphia, the UNDER total cashed in four times.
- The total has gone UNDER eight times in the Sixers’ last 11 contests.

- On the season, Maxey is averaging 26.2 points per outing.

- Maxey has played seven times on a Monday this season. In those contests, he has averaged 23.3 points per game.
- In his last 10 outings, he is averaging 27 PPG, exceeding the points total for this matchup three times during that stretch.
Going with the “under” for Maxey is the smart choice based on the above trends.
