Yannick Franke now with Zadar
Yannick Franke (194 cm) is moving to Zadar (Croatian A-1 & Adriatic League). FIBA has just recently lifted the ban on Zadar to sign new import players. The club has been involved in SEVEN different cases in front of FIBA’s Basketball Arbitration Tribunal. When an award is issued and not followed up by the losing party FIBA imposes a ban. Yannick Franke, a 21-year-old Dutch national team player, had previously signed with AEK Athens, but things didn’t work out well in Greece. Before signing with AEK he was originally set to start the season playing for ASP Promitheas Patras (Greece-A1). Yannick Franke played the 2015-16 season with Dutch powerhouse Donar Groningen (Netherlands-Eredivisie). In March 2016 he headed to the Bisons Loimaa (Finland-Korisliiga), where he finished the season. He played six VTB United League games for his new team and averaged 15.7 ppg and 5.0 rpg. In a dozen Finnish league games, Yannick posted averages of 7.5 ppg and 3.5 rpg. Franke has not yet played any official games during this running season. Unconfirmed reports state that Yannick Franke has signed until the end of the end of the 2018/2019 season.
