VTB United League: Loko Hands CSKA Moscow First Loss
VTB United League leaders, CSKA Moscow saw their winning streak ended at 10 games after falling to an energized Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar club 90-79. It was an impressive effort by the railroad tycoons put up a big run early in the fourth quarter to pull away in a tightly contested game.
CSKA could not provide any answers to slow down Loko’s Dimitry Kulagin, who ended up with a team-high 17 points and seven assists. CSKA was playing catch-up for the entire game and were not able to post any leads of their own.
This may be their first loss in the VTB United League, but Russia’s Army team is in a bit of a losing streak, falling to FC Barcelona Lassa in EuroLeague competition. The team is strong and resilient and should manage to bounce back. It’s just a matter of when. Loko, on the other hand, gains some much-needed momentum to catch up to the league leaders. They are currently in second in the VTB standings.
