Vladimir Stimac added by Besiktas
Vladimir Stimac (210 cm) will be strengthening the frontcourt rotation of Besiktas Sompo Japan Istanbul (Turkey-BSL) this coming 2016-17 season. Stimac is a 29-year-old Serbian player who has been a member 0f the Serbian national team since 2012. This will not be his first time around the block with a Turkish club. He saw action for Banvit Basketbol Kulubu in 2012-13. He joins Besiktas this season after playing for two teams in 2015-16. Vladimir began the season on the roster of Tuenti Movil Estudiantes (Spain-Liga Endesa). He played three games for them before departing the team. Stimac averaged 11.0 ppg and 6.3 rpg during his brief run.
In October 2015 the big man headed home to Serbia where he linked up with Crvena Zvezda Telekom Beograd (Serbia-KLS). In 25 Euroleague games he averaged 6.9 ppg and 4.7 rpg. He also played 24 games in the Adriatic league and there he averaged 7.0 ppg and 4.6 rpg. In 11 Serbian league games Stimac put together averages of 5.9 ppg and 4.7 rpg.
