Villanova Wins 2018 NCAA Championship
The Villanova Wildcats capture the 2018 NCAA Championship after defeating Michigan 79-62. This is the second national title for Villanova University in the last three years, proving that they have one of the best basketball programs in the country right now.
This was the ending that NCAA needed to get passed all the scandals and controversies that marred the association this 2017-18. For one night, all of that faded into the background and all eyes, all the attention was on the action that took place on the court; a fitting celebration of a tournament well played and some amazing, exciting basketball. The NCAA still has a long road back to clean up college hoops, but it’s landmark moments like this one that help motivate and inspire everyone on the same page. Focus on the game. Make it happen.
Donte DiVincenzo emerged as the protagonist for the Wildcats in this game. He heated up at just the right time and went on a tear that Michigan simply had no answer for. DiVincenzo carried Nova with a game-high 31 points, with him accounting for half of his team’s 10 3-pointers in the game. Villanova led at the end of the first half and even more aggressive offense allowed them to propel their lead further in the second.
