Veselin Veselinov joins Swiss Central
Veselin Veselinov (202 cm, West Virginia State’07) will be getting a change in scenery as he moves to Swiss Central Basket Luzern (Switzerland-LNA) this 2016. Veselinov is a 33-year-old Bulgarian player who was a two-time member of the Bulgarian national team in 2000 and 2013. He had a lackluster start to the 2016-17 season. Veselin played two games for Bulgarian powerhouse Lukoil Academic Sofia (Bulgaria-NBL) in the Basketball Champions League and averaged 1 ppg and 2 rpg. Hopefully this fresh start can get the forward back on track.
In 2015-16 Veselin played 14 games for Rilski Sportist Samokov (Bulgaria-NBL) and averaged 6.7 ppg and 3.8 rpg. He played six games for them in the FIBA Europe Cup and averaged 7.7 ppg and 2.0 rpg. In January 2016 the player headed to BC Timisoara (Romania-Liga Nationala) where he played 17 games and averaged 8.8 ppg and 5.2 rpg.
