Volos, Greece – Four teams advance to the quarterfinals of the U18 European Championships, staying undefeated after the second stage of the competition. Both France and Germany advance from Group E after coming up with some very dominant victories. France blazed through Latvia, 91-62 on some solid offensive execution. The duo of Stephane Gombauld and Luc Luobaki paced the French squad with 16 points apiece. Latvia remains winless in group action.

Germany earned their seat after steam-rolling the Czech Republic team, 74-47. The Czech Republic team now keep Latvia company in the group’s cellar with their own 0-3 slate.

From Group F, defending champions Turkey cruise into the Playoffs after a convincing 80-47 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina. Omer Yurtseven compiled a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. The Bosnian team absorbed their second loss of the stage and are now at 1-2. They are now in a three-way tie event hosts Greece as well as Italy which also sport 1-2 records.

Lithuania denied Russia a chance to record their first victory. Lithuania topped Russia, 73-65. They were carried by Martynas Varnas, who scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds.
