Turkish BSL: Wins at top and bottom
The Istanbul giants of Anadolu Efes and Fenerbahce stayed in control at the top of Turkish BSL this week, with both clubs picking up victories. However, the story of Round 18 of the Regular Season was undoubtedly TED Kolejliler Ankara. The club has waited 18 weeks, but finally recorded its first victory of the season.
We will start with the Turkish BSL bottom club
TED Kolejliler Ankara vs. USAK 90-84
At the 18th time of asking, TED Kolejliler collected its maiden win of the season thanks to a plucky home performance against USAK. Of course, home comforts mean nothing to club that has lost 17 on the spin, but this time Kolejliler delivered in front of its own fans. Only eight players made the roster, but they each stood up, with Shannon Shorter leading the efforts with a game-high 23 points and 8 rebounds. Ian Hummer grabbed a huge double-double of 19 points and 14 boards for the winners. Finally, Dominique Morrison added 21 points in victory.

Fenerbahce Istanbul vs. Yesilgiresun, 76-65
Fenerbahce eased to home success to remain top of the standings with a 16-2 record. The reigning Turkish BSL champions looked in control for long periods and outrebounded Yesilgiresun 35-26 to control the glass. Jan Vesely topped Fenerbahce with 16 points, while also adding 7 rebounds. Luigi Datome secured 15 points in the win, while Anthony Bennett grabbed 12 rebounds off the board. Anthony Gil stood up in the losing effort with a game-high 20 points.
Anadolu Efes Istanbul vs. Best Balikes, 95-67
Anadolu Efes kept pace with Fenerbahce thanks of a huge home win over Balikes. The Istanbul giant demolished its opponent and now sits on the same 16-2 record as Fener. The hosts forced 21 turnovers in the game and outrebounds Balikes 41-27 to protect and get second chance buckets. Anadolu Efes also put in a rounded offensive display that included 25 assists, a number that bested the 10 assists of the visitors. DeShaun Thomas led the winners with an impressive 22 points.
