Trento wins Serie A promotion with LNP Gold win
The Italian LNP Gold has wrapped for another season after Trento swept the title series to secure promotion to the top flight Serie A next season. The winners claimed a 75-90 road win over UPEA Capo d’Orlando to sweep the series in Game 3, but was made to fight from behind to sew up the title. The success was paced from deep as the champions reeled off 13 scores from downtown to pose a question Capo simply could not answer.

It was not a good start for UPEA as the club chased extending the series to Game 4. Trento opened better and silenced the home support with 29 first quarter points, while d’Orlando replied with 24. Things improved slightly for the hosts in the second quarter as they managed to cut the deficit, albeit by one point to leave the score sitting at 44-48 at half time. The visitors had made a good start and looked good to clinch the title on the road. However, UPEA improved in the third stanza and sent 23 points into the net while holding Trento to just 17. The home team had taken control of the contest with the score reading 67-65. The game had been turned around, but Trento exploded in the fourth quarter by blitzing UPEA at both ends, nailing 25 points at the offensive end and conceding just 8 in defence. It was a spectacular finale from the visitors, one that was a worthy title and promotion winning victory.
Brandon Triche was phenomenal in the winning effort, claiming almost half of the teams’ points, 43 in total, while he also grabbed 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Davide Pascolo followed Triche with 15 points and 7 rebounds, while Filippo Baldi Rossi logged 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Sandro Nicevic knocked down 22 points and took 6 rebounds for the losing team.
