Top 10 Best NBA Trios in History
As is to be expected, the Golden State Warriors have been in the headlines a lot this off-season. After winning their fourth championship in eight seasons, the media questioned whether or not their parade amounted to the most obnoxious celebration in NBA history. There was also the looming possibility of bringing a former superstar teammate back into the fold. However, for now, it looks as if the Dubs are content to run it back with last year’s core intact and chase a fifth Larry O’Brien trophy.
Recently, former Golden State Warrior and Basketball Hall-of-Famer Chris Mullins spoke about the team’s current foundational trio of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. He stated that the three stars who have been a part of the four recent Warriors’ championships are the best trio to ever play in the NBA together.
Although I respect the Basketball IQ of a man who not only entered the Hall-of-Fame as a player but was also admitted as a member of the 1992 Dream Team, I must respectfully disagree with this statement. The NBA traces its history back to 1946. In the more than seventy-five years that the league has been in existence, there have been some incredible rosters, many of whom featured great versions of their own “Big-3.” Mullins’ statement led me to ponder, “What are the top ten trios in the history of the NBA?”
While conversations like these will always spark a debate, it is important to note that respectful disagreements are part of what makes sports fandom so much fun! Without further ado, here’s the list.
