Three Teams Still Perfect at Italian Serie A
The creme has truly risen to the top of the Italian Serie A after four rounds of regular season action this 2017-18 with three teams staying undefeated. They are league powerhouse, EA7 Armani joined by Umana Reyer Venezia. The third and most recent team to join the highest echelon of the standings is Germani Basket Brescia, which crushed the now-12th ranked Openjobmetis Varese 73-67.
Germani Brescia’s win came as no surprise considering the momentum they have been building up early into the season. It was still close by most standards and the hosts’ fans were expecting a wider margin of victory. Nonetheless, a win is a win and the crowd in attendance was thrilled to see their team notch the “W.”
Dario Hunt was an unstoppable force, dropping a game-high 19 points for Brescia on some efficient shooting from both the field and the line. Luca Vitali rained down four triples and finished with 14 points of his own. He also took care of directing the flow of offense for the team with eight assists.
Antabia Waller paced Varese with 15 points, while Tyler Cain gleaned up on the glass with a dozen boards to his name.
It’s a been a good start of the season for Germani Basket Brescia, the question now is “can they keep this win streak up?”
