Suns’ Chris Paul Still Listed as Questionable Against Heat
Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul is still sitting out due to a heel injury.
Chris Paul Still Recovering from Heel Injury
Phoenix Suns star point guard Chris Paul may not play in tomorrow’s game versus the Miami Heat. Paul has already missed the Suns’ previous two games against the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Orlando Magic, citing right heel soreness as the reason for his absence. Phoenix head coach Monty Williams said that Paul is actually raring to get back on the court, but the team is opting for the wait-and-see strategy. Williams hinted that the veteran playmaker is not yet one hundred percent healthy, so it’s just fitting that they’re letting him fully recover at this early stage of the season.
Chris Paul, who is in his third year with the Suns, has seen his usage and workload drop a bit this season. He is only logging 30.2 minutes through 10 games, which is his lowest playing time average throughout his whole career. Moreover, this is also the first time that Paul is norming single digits in the scoring column (9.5 points), although his assists total is still very high (9.4 assists).
At 37 years of age (and turning 38 on March 2023), Paul may be seeing his workload decrease in the regular season. After all, the Suns have the weapons to rack up the wins, especially with Devin Booker and Mikal Bridges continuously growing their skill set every year. The Suns are holding a decent record of eight wins against four defeats, but they will be facing a tough stretch of games that includes matchups against the Heat, Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz, New York Knicks, and Los Angeles Lakers. It remains to be seen when Paul will make his return, but it the heel injury is only a minor one, so we could see him suit up again sooner than later.
