Stephen Holt signs with Brisbane Bullets
Stephen Holt (193 cm, St. Mary’s ‘ 14) is joining the Brisbane Bullets (Australia-NBL). He makes the move to Australia after winning the Czech Republican cup with CEZ Nymburk (Czech Republic-NBL). The Czech team brought Holt off the bench where he averaged 6.8 ppg in 15.7 mpg.
The 25-year-old guard signed with Nymburk in late-February for the end of their season. They found Holt on the basketball free agency market after he split ways with Tecnyconta Zaragoza (Spain-Liga Endesa). He departed in January after playing 17 games with the Spanish squad. His role was similar to the one he played in for Nymburk where he came off the bench. In 20.5 mpg, Holt scored 6.2 ppg and 2.4 rpg. Zaragoza originally signed Holt at the beginning of the season.
Now, Holt will head to his third team this year. Brisbane is currently last in the NBL standings with a 10-18 record. This is the return to the NBL for Holt as he played with Melbourne United (Australia-NBL) in the 2015/2016 season. Holt averaged 15.5 ppg, 3.6 rpg, and 3.6 apg in a much larger role with 31.5 mpg. The experienced Holt could help Brisbane improve going forward as he’ll immediately enter the starting lineup.
