Sixers’ Tyrese Maxey To Miss Three to Four Weeks
Philadelphia 76ers rising guard Tyrese Maxey has sustained a fractured left foot injury.
Tyrese Maxey Sitting Out For At Least Three Weeks
The Philadelphia 76ers’ injury list is growing by the day. With James Harden already sitting out due to a foot injury, the Sixers will also lose Tyrese Maxey for a significant amount of time. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Maxey has sustained a bone injury in his left foot, forcing him to miss action for three to four weeks. While it’s true that he doesn’t need surgery to fully recover from this setback, losing both Maxey and Harden will be a big blow to the Sixers’ backcourt depth.
Tyrese Maxey, who many people pegged as one of the breakout stars this year, has been excellent for his team. Through 15 games this season, the 6-foot-2 spitfire guard is tallying a tremendous stat line of 22.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.0 steals per contest. Maxey has been given a bigger workload on offense and he has thrived in his new role. He has maintained his high level of efficiency, as highlighted by his stellar 42.2% clip from the three-point line (6.8 attempts). Maxey’s scoring has been a key cog in Philly’s success, and they will surely miss his ability to create his own shots on offense.
Along with Maxey and Harden, Tobias Harris, Furkan Korkmaz, and Jaden Springer are also included in the Sixers’ injury report. Without their two backcourt starters, the Sixers will have to rely more on the likes of Shake Milton and De’Anthony Melton to hold the fort. Of course, they still have their superstar big man Joel Embiid to get them through these tough times. Embiid definitely can single-handedly help the Sixers rack up the wins, assuming that he also remains healthy.
