Silvano Poropat joins Den Bosch to be head coach
Silvano Poropat is the new head coach for New Heroes Den Bosch (Netherlands-Eredivisie). The Croatian head coach heads to the Netherlands for the first time in his coaching career. Den Bosch finished their 2016/2017 campaign with a 14-14 record. The finished third in the Eredivisie.
Prior to this move to Den Bosch, Poropat headed the Telekom Baskets Bonn (Germany-BBL) coaching staff. Poropat only coached there during one season. Before Telekom, the 46-year-old coached with Mitteldeutscher BC Weissenfels (Germany-BBL) where he was the head coach from 2011-2016. The team won the German 2.Bundesliga Pro A championship title in 2012 as well as the regular season title.
Poropat coached in Germany every year since starting in 2003 with EnBW Ludwigsburg (Germany-1.Bundesliga). He did sign with BK Ventspils (Latvia-LBL) in January 2010 but did not stay with the team after the season.
