Sergio Rodriguez pens with CSKA Moscow
Sergio Rodriguez (191 cm) is now a member of the backcourt for CSKA Moscow (Russia-VTB). Rodriguez has become quite the legend due to his incredible achievements with Real Madrid (Spain-Liga Endesa). The Spaniard was a part of Real Madrid from 2010-2016 and went through multiple championship seasons. The team won the title in his last two seasons and lost in the finals in the 2012/2013 season. Rodriguez played a huge role with Real Madrid and excelled like nobody in the league could. The league recognized his outstanding performances which led to him be awarded him with the Domestic Player of the Year award after the 2013/2014 campaign. The guard also received honors from the rest of Europe including an All-Europe player of the year award in both 2013/2014 and 2014/2015.
Rodriguez’ pedigree is an extremely valuable asset. All he does is win in Europe and nothing seems to be changing for the Spanish point guard. Now, he will continue his amazing career with the Russian powerhouse, CSKA Moscow. The team is expected to insert the veteran guard right into the starting lineup. He will be looked upon to orchestrate the offense and continue their winning ways next season. Moscow is the defending champions and has been for a large majority of the decade. Since 2010, Moscow has won seven titles in eight years. The only year where they did not capture the title was in 2010/2011 but they were able to still reach the championship game. Rodriguez should be able to help conserve the winning atmosphere as soon as day one.
