Rytas Secures Last Spot in 7Days EuroCup Q-Finals
It’s a done deal. Rytas Vilnius will take last remaining spot in the 7Days EuroCup. They crushed AS Monaco with extreme prejudice 90-68 to secure the berth. BC Partizan was unable to find a win of their own, falling to Group E leaders, ALBA Berlin 97-74. Rytas makes it through having the second-best record in the group (3-3), while Partizan and Monaco fall off with 2-4 slates.
D.J. Seeley led the charge with 21 points and a team-high three triples on the night. Rytas also got a huge boost from Artsiom Parakhouski, who came through with an 18-point, 11-rebound double-double as he took care of business in the post.
When it comes to do-or-die games like this one, it becomes a matter of which team wants the win more. And last night, that team was Rytas. They came out with a sense of urgency and did not any missed opportunities slip by. They dominated Monaco on many fronts, most notably in rebounds 40 vs. 19 and in assists 21 vs. 15.
Elmedin Kikanovic and Sergii Gladyr led the charge for Monaco with 17 and 16 points, respectively.
Now that Round 6 of the Top-16 is in the books, here is how the playoff picture brackets have formed up:
- ALBA Berlin vs. Unicaja Malaga
- ASVEL Villeurbanne vs. MoraBanc Andorra
- Valencia Basket vs. Rytas Vilnius
- UNICS Kazan vs. Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar
