Ryan Hollins released by Gran Canaria
Ryan Hollins (213 cm, UCLA ’06) has been let go by Gran Canaria (Spain-Liga Endesa). Hollins played in 13 games with the Spanish squad this season. Six of his games in league play and seven in the Eurocup. The 33-year-old big man did not find much playing time as he averaged just 10.2 mpg in Liga Endesa and 8.1 in Eurocup. In the Liga Endesa, the big man averaged 4.5 ppg and 2.7 rpg. Now he will look to continue his long career elsewhere.
Hollins started his professional career by being drafted by the Charlotte Bobcats (US-NBA) in the second round of the 2006 NBA Draft. The Bobcats kept him on the roster until 2009 when they traded him to the Dallas Mavericks. He then became an NBA journeyman, signing with a total of eight teams until last season. No team in the NBA signed him after being released by the Memphis Grizzlies (US-NBA) in January 2016. Gran Canaria was the first team for Hollins, outside of the NBA.
