Rosa Radom wins Polish Supercup 2016
Rosa Radom has ushered in the 2016-17 season on the right foot, defeating Stelmet Zielona Gora 77-81 to claim the 2016 Polish Supercup title. This came as bit of a surprise with Stelmet ZG being touted as the favorites, being the defending Polish league champs. Nonetheless, credit goes where credit is due, as Rosa Radom played their hearts out and brought their A game as well.
Rosa Radom had control for most of the game, but dictated the tempo in the opening frame. They forged ahead and established a five point lead, but Stelmet fought back in the second period and narrowed the margin to just two points as both clubs headed to their respective locker rooms for the halftime break.
From the third quarter onward though, Rosa Radom was able to expand on their lead, thanks in part to the scoring outburst of Tyrone Brazelton. It was his solid shooting from the charity stripe that helped his team hold on for the win and raise the trophy above their heads. Brazelton finished with a game-high 30 points. Gary Bell and Michal Sokolowski added 18 and 13 points, respectively. James Florence paced Stelmet Zielona Gora with 26 points.
