Ricky Minard signs with Besiktas

Earlier today American small forward Ricky Minard (196 cm, Morehead State’04) announced via his Twitter account that he was leaving SAIE3 Virtus Bologna and Italy. It has been confirmed that the experienced 29-year old is heading to Besiktas JK Istanbul (Turkey, TBL and Euroleague) until the end of the season.

Besiktas made the move for Minard on the last day that teams can sign new players for the Euroleague season. Ricky Minard has played 16 times for Virtus Bologna this season and has averaged 10.4ppg, 3.8rpg, and 1.8apg. Besiktas will be hoping to see the best of Minard who is known as an athletic guard with a good all-round game in the remainder of the season.

Minard brings with him plenty of European experience having previously played in the Euroleague with Lottomatica Virtus Roma (Italy, Serie A), and the Eurocup with Azovmash Mariupol (Ukraine, Superleague).
