Real Madrid lifts EuroAmerica Cup
After an amazing 2013/2014 season for Real Madrid, the team’s campaign fell at the last hurdle with defeat in the Spanish league and Euroleague finals. Los Blancos will attack the 2014/2015 season in a bid to go one step further and continued its preparations by defeating Cangrejeros de Santurce (Puerto Rico, BSN) 82-103 to lift the EuroAmerican Cup.
The pre-season competition saw Real Madrid travel to Puerto Rico to challenge Santurce at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The hosts kept pace with Madrid during the opening exchanges, but by time the first split buzzer sounded the Europeans had carved open an 18-24 lead. In the second quarter the Spaniards continued to ascend, extending the lead by two points until they held a 35-43 advantage at the long break. In minutes 20 to 30 Los Blancos went up a gear and dropped 24 points to secure a 53-67 lead at the final break. The final frame put the icing on the cake for Madrid as they poured in 32 points to cruise to an easy pre-season warm up victory.
Sergio Llull spurred on Madrid with 20 points, while K.C. Rivers offered 19 points and Ioannis Bourousis secured 17 points.
Alexander Galindo took a game high 21 points for the defeated Santurce and was followed by Javier Mojica with 17 points.
