Rakim Sanders lands with Sassari

Italian Serie A team Banco di Sardegna Sassari has acquired the services of Rakim Sanders (193 cm, Fairfield’12) for the 2014-15 season. Sanders is coming off a stint playing  for German Bundesliga team Brose Baskets Bamberg. In 2013-14 Rakim appeared in 10 of the club’s Turkish Airlines Euroleague games and averaged 7.9 ppg and 3.2 rpg as a reserve off the bench. In the domestic German BBL, Sanders managed to produce averages of 9.1 ppg and 3.7 rpg.

In 2012-13 he played for Maccabi Electra Tel-Aviv (Israel-Winner League) and averaged 13.3 ppg in their Balkan league run. Rakim then moved on to join Altshuler Saham Galil Gilboa and there he averaged 12.7 ppg and 3.9 rpg in 28 games.
