Rabotnicki Wins 2018 Macedonia Prva Liga Title
Rabotnicki returned to the top of the podium after edging out MZT Skopje in Game 3 of the finals to capture the 2018 FYR Macedonia Prva Liga Championship. This is a well-deserved win for an organization that last captured domestic league gold in 2009. They only dropped two games in the regular season to finish on top of the Prva Liga standings with a 29-2 record. MZT Skopje came in second in the standings with their 24-7 slate. Prior to this, MZT Skopje had an iron grip on the league, winning all of the championships from 2012 to 2017. They dominate no longer as Rabotnicki has shown this season that they have the tools to play at a high level and compete for the title.
Rabotnicki lost the battle of the boards 28-38 but secured the victory thanks to their stifling defense which forced MZT Skopje to commit 20 turnovers.
Chavdar Kostov of Rabotnicki led all scorers in the game with 19 points. MZT Skopje repeatedly fouled him and he made them pay by converting on 11-of-13 of his shots from the free throw line. Damjan Krstevski chipped in 17 points.
