Prishtina moves to 3-0 in Balkan League
KB Sigal Prishtina stayed perfect Balkan League by defeating SCM U Craiova in convincing fashion to open Round 3 of the competition. The Kosovo club had too much for the Romanian visitors as they raced to a comfortable 92-76 victory in front of its home fans.
A high scoring first quarter saw Craiova carve out a narrow lead, pushing out the home team 22-25 after ten minutes on the hardwood. In the second frame the hosts responded with frequent successful plays, winning the period 26-17 to lead 48-42 at halftime. The visitors edged the third quarter 20-21 to make it interesting through 30 minutes, the scoreboard reading 68-63. However, Sigal Prishtina hit a big 24-13 run in the final act to seal a big home win.
Darden Berisha led the winning effort with 27 points, 7 assists, and 8 defensive boards, while Blerim Mazreku and Aaron McGhee nailed 22 points apiece.
Milivoje Bozovic paced Craiova with 22 points and 7 rebounds, followed by Nikola Vucurovic with 18 points and 8 rebounds.
In the other game of the night in the Balkan League, KK Mornar defeated KS Vllaznia 20-0 by forfeit. The game was abandoned after technical issues where the game clock and shot clock not functioning could not be resolved.
