Pops Mensah-Bonsu signs with Milano
British forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu (2006, George Washington’06) has departed Cajasol Sevilla (Spain, ACB) after just a month with the team. Mensah-Bonsu’s next destination had been revealed to be Cimberio Varese in Italy’s Serie A but the the British player has instead opted to join up with Olimpia Milano who came in at the last minute with a better offer. The 29-year old forward is still finding his feet again after picking up a knee injury at the 2012 London Olympics while playing for the Great Britain team.
After joining with Sevilla on March 4th Pops Mensah-Bonsu played 6 games with the Spanish outfit and recorded averages of 6.3ppg and 2.2rpg. The player is hugely experienced having played in France, Spain, and Russia while he has also played consistently in the NBA for the Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Toronto Raptors, San Antonio Spurs, and the New Orleans Hornets.
