Pete Mickeal retires
Pete Mickeal (199 cm, Cincinnati’00) has finally left Regal FC Barcelona (Spain, ACB and Euroleague) and has retired from Basketball after a long standing blood problem. Mickeal has been suffering health issues that the club confirmed in March would keep him out for the season and the 35-year old forward has now returned to his native United States to begin treatment on embolism problems stemming from 2010.
Mickeal has played 23 games with FCB Regal in the ACB this season and offered averages of 10.1ppg and 4.4rpg. The player has also featured in the 2012-2013 Euroleague with Barcelona and played a total of 20 times with averages of 11.4ppg and 3.9rpg. Pete Mickeal is a seasoned player and has gained vast experience in Europe and his native USA. However it is in Spain that the big man has enjoyed the most success by claiming a three ACB titles with Vitoria and Barcelona while he also picked up a Euroleague triumph with FCB Regal in 2010.
