Nymburk reaches Eurocup Last 32
Czech powerhouse CEZ Nymburk punched its ticket to the Last 32 of the Eurocup by downing the previously qualified Spanish club Seville.
The game opened Round 10 of the competition’s Regular Season, the final week of action before the winter break and the Last 32 phase of the Eurocup. CEZ Nymburk have now wrapped proceedings in Group C by overhauling Seville to move into third place in the group, pushing Seville down to fourth with the same 5-5 record.

Nymburk needed an overtime period to seal the deal and progress to the next round as Seville put up a resilient effort. The home team knew that a loss here would have left them sweating on results tomorrow, so the Nymburk faithful will be glad their team got the job done. The hosts had a confidence inducing first quarter and won the frame 19-15, but Seville charged back in the second stanza with a 13-15 run that made it 32-30 at the long break. CEZ Nymburk held the lead they coveted heading to the third act, but the visitors won the period 18-26 to make it 50-56 through three quarters. In the last quarter the hosts went big with a 26-20 flurry to make it locked at the end of regulation, the scoreboard reading 76 apiece. In the added stint the home team maintained momentum to win it 15-6 and cruise to the win.
Christian Burns lead the winning effort with 19 points, while Tre Simmons doubled up with 18 points and 11 assists through the game. Petr Benda added 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners.
Seville looked to 17 points from Xavier Thames to pace the team.
