Nick Young sued for sexual assault
Philadelphia 76ers guard Nick Young (198 cm, USC’07) is being sued for an alleged sexual assault that he committed against a California woman in 2011.
Here are some details regarding the lawsuit c/0 CBS Los Angeles:
The woman’s allegations range from sexual battery and false imprisonment to intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence. She refers to herself as Jane Doe in the complain, and is seeking damages that are unspecified.
The drug that the woman alleges Young used is Gamma-Hydroxbutyric acid, or GHB — often referred to as the date-rape drug. According to the complaint, the woman was at the Crown Bar in West Hollywood with a friend on Aug. 12, 2011, when Young approached them and offered them drinks. The suit also states that the plaintiff knew Young from two prior meetings.
Court papers also say that the woman alleges that she does not remember what happened after drinking the beverage, but she believes she was taken by Young to his apartment, where she alleges he had sex with her.
As of now, there hasn’t been any formal comment given by any representation from the Philadelphia 76ers. A statement by the team will likely follow soon.
Nick Young played 59 games for the Sixers this 2012-13 season and 10.6 ppg and 2.2 rpg.
