Valencia Takes Game 1 of the 7Days EuroCup Finals
ALBA Berlin and Valencia Basket locked horns on Tuesday night in Game 1 of the 7Days Eurocup finals. After the dust settled, it would be the Spanish club that would emerge victorious with a score of 89-75.
Valencia drew first blood riding on a massive performance from Will Thomas, who dropped a career-high 22 points to spearhead the team’s aggressive offense for the night. Sam Van-Rossom facilitated their offense with a 15-point, 7-assist performance.
The game was back and forth early but after the first half, it was all Valencia all the way. The last time ALBA Berlin kept it close was with a 49-49 deadlock.
Peyton Siva paced ALBA Berlin with 17 points and seven assists. Martin Hermannsson chipped 16 points of his own on 3-of-5 shooting from beyond the 3-point arc. Both players combined for eight of the team’s 12 3-point shots in the game. They were also the only blue shirts to score in double figures while their teammates had trouble getting in gear on the offensive end.
Game 2 moves to the Mercedes Benz Arena in Berlin, where ALBA hoping to use their homecourt to even up the series.
