NBA D-League makes big strides in 2016-17
The NBA D-League had a very good year this 2016-17. The league set a record in attendance with over one and a half million people coming to watch the games. The league has also announced that will be expanding to 25 teams for 2017-18.
Their is a wealth of talent in the league just waiting to be discovered. More and more players have found their way to the NBA via its developmental league. All 30 NBA teams ended the season with at least three former D-League players on their roster. 17 teams had at least seven D-League vets bolstering their ranks.
The league’s partnership with Gatorade has been a welcome relationship for both parties. The company is rolling out some of its latest products and innovations in the D-League locker rooms.
The D-League will also get a chance this 2017-18 to make a big splash in the international basketball scene. USA Basketball will be sourcing from its ranks players to fill a roster which will compete in the FIBA Americas qualifiers for the FIBA World Cup in 2019.
