Bayern Munich celebrates 2019 German League title
FC Bayern Munich completed a three-game sweep of their finals series versus ALBA Berlin on Sunday to repeat as German League champions. They successfully completed a 93-85 victory over their guests at Audi Dome in overtime.
ALBA came to play hard in this must-win game and led with double figures for most of the contest. Bayern just got it together and put on some key runs in the fourth quarter for to force overtime. In the extra period, solid defense and their ability to ride the momentum they mustered allowed the red and blue shirts to cruise to the win.
Vladimir Lucic led the victors with a game-high 23 points. The finals MVP honors were bestowed on Nihad Dedovic, who chipped in 18 points and six assists. Danilo Barthel played a key role in the aforementioned fourth quarter rallies and ended the game with 15 points.
Peyton Siva did his best to push ALBA with his 21 points, but only Johannes Theimann and Niels Giffey were able to put up significant help on the offensive end with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
This was a well-deserved win for Bayern Munich, who now look to set up fresh dynasty in the German League.
