NCAA: D.J. Jeffries Reopens Recruitment
Four-star recruit D.J. Jeffries has withdrawn his commitment to play for the Kentucky University basketball program in 2019 and has reopened the basketball recruiting process. Jeffries made the announcement via his Twitter account on July 31st.
After careful consideration prayer and countless hours of consulting with my family I decided to reopen recruitment it was a hard decision but I am confident that taking my time to choose the right school for me to better myself educationally and athletically is the right choice pic.twitter.com/Pqc4QlVqfd

Jeffries originally committed to KU after leading his Olive Branch high school to a Mississippi State Championship. There’s a strong possibility that Jeffries has his sights set on Memphis and could be joined by fellow high school standout James Wiseman.
This turn of events throws a big monkey wrench into the recruitment plans of John Calipari and the Kentucky University basketball program. Their medium-term outlook will take a hit but we should expect Kentucky to find fresh talent to add to their roster for 2019.
