NBA Daily Roundup: Steph Curry, Warriors Beat the Heat
Steph Curry put up another masterful shooting display to help the Golden State Warriors tally another win.
Steph Curry Stars in Warriors’ Win
Behind Steph Curry’s exploits on offense, the Golden State Warriors managed to tally a 123-110 win over Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat. Curry led the charge for the Dubs, putting up a game-high 33 points while adding seven rebounds and nine assists to his tally. Curry drilled seven treys in the win, as he willed the defending champs to a rough win over the visiting Heat.
The Heat tried to match the Warriors shot for shot, but their defense eventually tired out in the end. Heat stars Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo both stuffed the stat sheet tonight. Butler came up with 27 points, six rebounds, eight assists, and six steals, while Adebayo chipped in 26 points, eight boards, four steals, and three blocks. However, Miami shooting guard Tyler Herro struggled mightily in the loss, making just three of his 12 shots, and was only 1-of-5 from the three-point line.
The Heat and the Warriors will face again in Miami on November 1.
Doncic Puts Up Triple-Double Stat Line
Luka Doncic did all and more in the Dallas Mavericks’ 129-125 overtime victory over the star-studded Brooklyn Nets. Luka amassed a triple-double night of 41 points, 11 boards, and 14 assists, leading the Mavericks to their second win this season.
Kyrie Irving (39 points) and Kevin Durant (37 points) had another set of explosive scoring performances, but again, it was not enough to net a win. They’re still waiting for Ben Simmons to turn in an excellent outing, as he finished with only seven points and four assists in the loss.
This is a rough start for the Nets, a team who has lofty championship aspirations this year. They’re currently holding a 1-4 record and will finish the rest of their four-game home stand with two straight games against the Indiana Pacers, and a tough match against DeMar DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls.
