NBA Daily Roundup: Luka Doncic Beats the Clippers Again
Luka Doncic again flexed his muscles against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Luka Doncic Hits Dagger Trey Against Clippers
Death, taxes, and Luka Doncic putting up another masterclass against the Los Angeles Clippers. Behind a 35-point night from Luka, the Dallas Mavericks hacked out a thrilling 103-101 victory over the Clippers. Along with the damage that he dealt on the scoring column, Luka also stuffed the stat sheet with 11 rebounds and 5 assists. The Slovenian wunderkind has always been in deadly form when he faces the Clippers, dating back to their playoff matchup in the 2020 NBA bubble.
The Mavericks raced right out the gates in the first half, building a huge 22-point advantage after the first two quarters. But the Clippers stormed back in the third period, clamping down on the Mavericks and getting it going on offense. A back-and-forth affair ensued in the payoff period, but the Mavs were able to hold on thanks to a dagger wing triple from Luka Doncic.
Paul George led the Clippers with 23 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. The Clippers, who now drop to an 8-7 record, were still without star Kawhi Leonard.
Kings Tally 153 Points Against the Nets
There was no shortage of offense in the Kings-Nets matchup tonight. The Sacramento Kings just ran away with a blistering 153-121 victory over Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets. The Kings scored at least 36 points in each quarter, including a masterful performance in the third period when they chalked up 42 total markers. Terence Davis came off the bench to lead Sacramento with 31 points, and six other Kings players scored in double digits.
As much as it was a great win for the Kings, it was also an embarrassing loss for the Nets. Their defense was just atrocious, and they need to fix things up if they want to seriously contend this season.
