Nanterre beats Chalon 82-79 to win FIBA Europe Cup 2017
Two French clubs took to the hardwood to compete in Game 2 of the FIBA Europe Cup. In the end, it would be JSF Nanterre that would take the gold with the aggregate score of 140-137 after downing ES Chalon-Sur-Saone 82-79. Both teams came into this game with some momentum boosting them, having secured respective victories in the domestic French Pro A league. Nanterre is on a roll. They just captured the French Cup over the weekend.
Chris Warren played a huge role for Nanterre in this win, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 10 assists. He helped them jumped to a quick start. Their offense was humming like a well-oiled machine and the result speaks for itself. Warren also secured their lead 82-75 with a few minutes left on the clock. In the end, it was their defense in the dying seconds of the game that prevented Chalon from evening up the score.
Aside from Chris Warren’s big game, Nanterre also got solid contributions from Spencer Butterfield and Heiko Schaffartzik, who added 16 and 13 points, respectively.
Cameron Clark led Chalon with 24 points and five rebounds. Moustapha Fall chipped in 17 points on a perfect shooting game.
