Mustapha Heron signs with Leicester Riders
Mustapha Heron (196 cm, PG), a rookie point guard out of St. John’s University, has joined the British Basketball League’s Leicester Riders.
The 23-year-old Heron averaged 13.7 points and 1.6 assists as a collegiate senior in the 2019-20 season.
Mustapha Heron, who transferred to St. John’s after two seasons at Auburn University, had six points, four rebounds and an assist in 22-plus minutes off the bench in his Leicester debut on Friday. The league-leading Riders defeated the Worcester Wolves 84-82.

“I have followed Mustapha for a long time,” Leicester coach Rob Paternostro said recently. “He is a big time talent on both ends of the floor and is a versatile wing with good size and strength.
“He can play multiple positions on offence and defense, and has shown the ability to make plays from many different spots on the court.”
