Michal Michalak moves to Tecnyconta Zaragoza
Michal Michalak (197 cm) is taking his game to Tecnyconta Zaragoza (Spain-Liga Endesa). The addition will give the Spanish team another scorer to help improve from their dismal 2016/2017 season. The Liga Endesa is one of the toughest in the world and Zaragoza found out first hand. They finished one spot away from dead last after going 9-23. The 23-year-old swingman should see a lot of time on the floor playing in a new country in his career.
Last season, the Polish swingman put up outstanding numbers with PGE Turow Zgorzelec (Poland-PLK). In 32 games with the Polish club, Michalak put up 14.6 ppg while shooting 38.8 percent from deep. He also contributed on the glass with 4.1 rpg as well as 2.0 apg. Since going pro as an 18-year-old kid in 2010/2011, Michalak has only signed with one team outside of Poland which was Germani Brescia (Italy-Serie A). However, he only played one game for that club which occurred late last year. Now, he will be playing in the hectic atmosphere of Spanish basketball. Only time will tell if he has what it takes. Regardless the results, this will be a great experience for him going forward.
