Michael Porrini leaves Timba Timisoara
Michael Porrini (187 cm, Kent State’12) will not stay with Timba Timisoara (Romania-Liga Nationala) after leaving the club today. The American player stayed with the team for less than two weeks. The 25-year-old guard has played in Greece previously in his career and averaged 5.8 ppg and 4.5 apg in 13 games. In 2012/13, the former Massillon and Kent State point guard has signed with Gelisim Koleji Spor Kulubu, a second-division team in the Turkish Basketball League. Michael Porrini notched 13.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 32 games. In college Porrini averaged more than 4.5 assists a game and was the only Mid-American Conference player to average more than nine points, five assists and four rebounds in league play the past two seasons. He was voted the MAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2011 when the Golden Flashes won the regular season league title.
