Michael Peck named head coach of Idaho Stampede
Michael Peck, has been named the new head coach of the Idaho Stampede of the D-League. The Stampede are affiliate of the Portland Trail Blazers.
“This is a great opportunity with a wonderful organization,” Peck said. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity ahead of me.”
Peck has been the head coach of the Findlay College Prep Program at the Henderson International School in Henderson, Nev., just outside of Las Vegas, the past five seasons. During those five seasons his teams have an accumulated record of 157-8, including a 65-game win streak at home. Findlay was the top high school team in the US in 2009 with a 33-0 record, they won the National High School Invitational in 2009, 2010 and 2012 and they were the National Prep School Championship Runner-Up in 2008 after a 32-1 season. At one point his squad held a 45-game wining streak.
“The Idaho Stampede warmly welcomes Michael as our new Head Coach,” Stampede Managing Investor Bill Ilett said. “Obviously, his record speaks for itself. In addition, he has proven he can develop players of NBA caliber and we look forward to him bringing future success to the Idaho Stampede.”
