Melvin Sanders to leave Barcellona

Sigma Barcellona (Italy, Lega 2) has reached an agreement with American Swingman Melvin Sanders (196 cm, Oklahoma State’03) that will see the player leave the team. Sanders joined Sigma Barcellona at the start of the 2012-2013 season and has played 17 games with the team while averaging 8.4ppg, 5.7rpg and 1.3apg. 32-year old Sanders is now a free agent.

Melvin Sanders has been on the roster at several NBA franchises including the San Antonio Spurs and the Denver Nuggets; however it is in Europe that he has built his career. The experienced player has hit the court in the top divisions in Italy, Spain, Turkey, Belarus, and Greece.

Last season Sanders played with Haceteppe University in the Turkish Basketball League where he played 29 games and posted solid averages of 12.7pg, 8.9rpg, and 1.8apg.
