Marvin Bagley III Powers Duke to Comeback Win
The Duke University Men’s Basketball Team is one tough cookie. They are ranked number one in the Associated Press rankings at the moment and rightfully so. The favorites were pushed to the limit by the Florida Gators over the weekend. With their backs to the wall at the end of the first half, Duke rallied behind star rookie Marvin Bagley III to complete an amazing comeback and edge out Florida 87-84.
The win showed that Duke indeed has the tools, the grit, and the determination to get key wins when it counts. With Bagley III as their centerpiece and a complex combination of veteran talent and a proven program; Duke is definitely the team to beat.
The seventh-ranked Gators started off the game strong and looked like they were in control. They closed out the half leading the top-ranked Duke 53-49.
Marvin Bagley III stepped up for his team in a big way, dropping 30 points, 15 rebounds, two assists and a block. Fellow freshman, Gary Trent Jr. added 15 points and three triples.
Jalen Hudson led the way for Florida with 24 points, 10 boards and three steals.
