Martins Laksa agrees with Obradoiro CAB
Martins Laksa (200 cm) is the newest member of Rio Natura Monbus Obradoiro CAB (Spain-Liga Endesa). Laksa is going into his ninth year of his career and the first season outside of Latvia. The 27-year-old Latvian played the last two seasons with Valmiera (Latvia-LBL). He saw 29.8 mpg of action last season in a major role with the Latvian team. In 36 games, Laksa scored 13.1 ppg while grabbing 4.3 rpg. The small forward was lights out from three for Valmiera, shooting 43.5 percent from deep in the LBL. The team finished third last season in the LBL with a 21-11 record. As well as going 9-3 in the Baltic League regular season and winning the Baltic Cup playoffs.
It was a very successful 2016/2017 campaign for Laksa. Now, he follows that with a move to the tough Liga Endesa. The small forward joins Rio Natura Monbus Obradoiro CAB which was the 13th place team in the Liga Endesa standings last season. The team went 11-21, so improvement is a must. Laksa will come in and provide a quality perimeter shooter for the team and will do his best to improve upon the disappointing 2016/2017 season for Obradoiro
