Marius Grigonis hits game-winner; hands Zalgiris Kaunas fourth straight EuroLeague win

Marius Grigonis hit the game-winner at the buzzer and handed Zalgiris Kaunas the 74-73 victory over Bayern Munich in EuroLeague Round 16.

The Lithuanians survived the late thriller against the Bavarians and extended their EuroLeague winning streak to four games.

After losing six in a row, Zalgiris have been on a roll and have managed to retain their place within the playoff zone. They now are at 9-7 in the standings.

Meanwhile, Bayern dropped to 10-6, suffering its third straight road defeat. However, they maintained a EuroLeague top four push.

Fenerbahce saw Olympiacos come back from a 13-point deficit in the third quarter, but stood tall and protected their home court (84-77).

The Turks snapped a three-game EuroLeague losing streak and improved to 6-10.

Meanwhile, the “Reds” dropped out of the EuroLeague playoff zone (7-8), after losing their third in a row.

Baskonia played its 500th game in the EuroLeague and earned a big road win over Armani Milano (79-84).

This was the first win in Milano for the Basques since 2012 (seven consecutive defeats).

Baskonia put an end to a three game-losing streak and now are at 7-8. On the other hand, the Italians dropped to 9-6 on the EuroLeague table and missed the chance to reach the top four.

Khimki erased a 20-point deficit, but could not rally past Valencia at La Fonteta, with the Spaniards earning the 88-82 win at home.

The Russians saw their losing streak climb to eight straight games and still are on the bottom of the EuroLeague standings, with a 2-14 record.

On the contrary, Valencia recovered from their loss to Crvena Zvezda last week and have now won three of their last four EuroLeague games.

The hosts improved to 10-6 and remained close to the top four in the EuroLeague, tied with Bayern Munich.
