Mareks Jurevicus to Mykolaiv
MBC Mykolaiv from Ukraine’s Superleague has brought in Latvian swingman Mareks Jurevicus (197 cm) to strengthen their roster this 2013-14. Mykolaiv is currently struggling and is 11th of 14 in the Ukrainian Superleague standings with a record of 4-8. Mykolaiv will be Jurevicus’ third team this season.
He began 2013-14 playing for ES Chalon Sur-Saone from France’s Pro A league. He played four games for Chalon in the Eurocup and averaged 6.0 ppg and 1.3 rpg in only 17.8 minutes per game of action. He saw even less usage in his five games in the French league where he played only 9.8 mpg and averaged 3.4 ppg and 0.8 rpg. In November Mareks moved back home to Latvia and played for Liepaja/Triobet (LBL). He played a couple of games for them in the Baltic League and averaged 17.0 ppg and 7.0 rpg. He also managed to play in seven games in the Latvian league where he was able to post averages of 14.9 ppg and 5.4 rpg.
