Les Lions de Geneve win Swiss LNA
Les Lions de Geneve are on top of Basketball in Switzerland once again after overcoming Union Neuchatel Basket 78-68 in Game 5 of the LNA finals series. The home victory ensured the Geneva giant won the title with a 4-1 series win, getting the job done after a slip in Game 4. The win marks the second LNA crown for Les Lions in three seasons (after 2013’s success).
The game started with a high scoring first quarter, one that was ultimately edged by Neuchatel 26-24. In the second period the hosts found momentum and stole the frame 11-16 to lead 37-40 through the long break. In the third act proved the difference as Les Lions de Geneve went huge with a 29-9 charge that defined the contest. The fourth quarter was a formality as the Lions eased down the stretch.
Dusan Mladjan topped the win with 14 points, while Chase Stanback and David Ramseier scored 13 apiece.
Brian Savoy responded with a game high 21 points for Neuchatel.
