Legendary agent Luciano Capicchioni passed away at 75
Luciano Capicchioni, one of the most influential European basketball agents of all time, has passed away at 75.
Capicchioni served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Interperformances agency, while his contribution to the sports community extended past basketball. He served as the Vice-Chairman of the San Marino Olympic Committee from 1979 to 1984, during the Moscow and Los Angeles Olympic Games, and was named the Head of Delegation of the San Marino Olympic Committee for the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
During the 60s and 70s, Capicchini became a pioneer in global sports by founding the first American College Cycling Team at Michigan State University in 1965, before taking over founder and president duties of the San Marino Basketball Federation.
He was the man behind Toni Kukoc, Arvdyas Sabonis, Manu Ginobili, Sasha Danilovic, Zan Tabak, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Theodoros Papaloukas, among many other names.
Luciano “Lucky” Capicchioni was the first major European basketball agent and the founder of the Interperformances agency.
He leaves his wife Annamaria and son Manuel behind.
