Le Mans Tops French Pro A After Four Rounds
The French Pro A league was one of the first domestic European leagues to usher in 2017-18. They LNB is already four rounds into the regular season. After four rounds of action, only one team has managed to stand tall and claim dominance above all. Le Mans Sarthe Basket is the only remaining undefeated team in the league (4-0). Five teams trail them with 3-1 records and they are Pau-Lacq-Orthez, AS Monaco, Bourg Basket, ASVEL, and Hyeres-Toulon.
In Round 4, Le Mans got a scare as they faced one of their toughest opponents in Strasbourg IG on October 9th. Le Mans narrowly came away with a 76-78 win. Le Mans’ Justin Cobbs did most of the damage in his 35 minutes on the floor. He torched Strasbourg with his game-high 21 points, knocking down 3-of-4 shots from 3-point range.
Strasbourg’s David Logan and Michael Dixon combined for 33 points, but their efforts on the offensive end of the floor got little follow-through from the bench.
For now, Le Mans is the top team of the French Pro A, but with many teams nipping at their heels, how long can they sit at the summit of the standings?
